To Create a Culture of Peace and to Disarm Now

Great, great news!!! WCA will collaborate with other NGOs on a workshop in Mexico City! Our proposal was accepted! Considering how complex the workshop application process was, so casual and yet so full of "political" rules, and there were so many other NGOs applying, I am just so grateful we are IN. Now the hard work begins in fashion the workshop so we as a collective group of NGOs present a meaningful and coherent workshop and so WCA can establish a presence and a modicum of respect with the UN NGO crowd.

Workshop Title:
To Create a Culture of Peace and to Disarm Now
Workshop Description:
Our workshop's focus is international civil society efforts to press for the initiation of nuclear weapons abolition negotiations as part of the 2009-10 Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference. We will address the importance of working with and engaging youth about non-violence and the use of art and creative actions as tools for social change. We will also present how people can speak out against Nuclear Weapons and Weapons of Mass Destruction², through Art and Culture.
