-Julie Striztel is a self-taught artist. She started making dolls and doll clothes as a little kid and has been doing something ever since. She taught herself how to make things she wanted including bead weaving on a loom, jewelry, and strung beads. She was also a jeweler apprentice and worked as a pearl stringer.
For our meeting she will talk about sculptures coming to be from idea to completion. She will present a small Ginkgo tree that will be assembled from various component pieces. She will have pre-cut wire for the frame and bead-strung wire for everyone to make at least one hopefully 2 Ginkgo leaves. If you have a personal set of wire cutters to use please bring them. We will have some members bringing extra cutters for those who do not have their own. Julie will also have a page of instructions for the whole tree typed up to hand out.
Please make every effort to attend. We hold program/informational meetings every other month on the last
Tuesday of the month. Don’t’ forget to mark your calendars for The Gathering June 13th. A once a year gathering of women artist for a day of art and sister-hood.
