Contemporary Women Artist XV - Art as Activism' Exhibition weekend was great..from the lecture by juror Yolanda Lopez on her work to the gallery talk/exhibition opening.

Congrats to the following artists that were honored by Yolanda at the exhibit reception.

2nd place- Leslie Hume

3rd place -Erica Popp

5 Honorable Mentions - Carol Horstman, Sandra Schwetman, Janice Nesser, Brenna Conley-Fonda and Kay Wood.

On Saturday, artists in the exhibition gathered with Yolanda for an informal brunch where there was good food, great conversation and lots of laughing. Yolanda talked to them about their work and lead a discussion on art as activism.

Thanks to all who volunteered to help make this a success,..and those who came out for the activities.

(UN)SEASONED this Saturday!

Dail Chambers is hosting a "craft and conversation" at the studio for the month of March. Building on the energy of Women's history month, we will have a small group of women selling & sharing a variety of their artworks and crafts.
As usual, the studio's events are truly diverse and intergenerational.

I will also have sign up sheets for classes, betterment sessions, etc.

I'm elated about this upcoming event & I hope that you will join us on Saturday, March 6th 2010 from noon til 6!
